PARENTS RAISE FUNDS TO SAVE A GOOD SCHOOL

In Harrisburg’s Carolina International School, a finance officer was recently arrested and charged for an alleged embezzlement of close to $500,00 (within two years). The lost money resulted to a deficit of approximately to $400,000 (for May and June) and a possible closing of the institution. In order to help settle the school's obligations, several parents are now running a fund raising campaign.

The parents involved are focused in saving the CIS that has so far remarkably performed better than the average school. In 2006 and 2007, the school's N.C. Education Report Card shows Carolina International School scoring higher than the state average in every subject.
